The Noosa District Sports Complex in southern Queensland has been announced as the venue for the historic Test Match between the Brasil Carcarás and South African Rhinos this June 5.
The sanctioned Test Match will be the first time the two nations have gone head to head on a Rugby League field, with both nations set to bring across players from their respective domestic competitions.
The South African Rhinos will come into the match with an eye on the 2025 Rugby League World Cup with new head coach, Darryl Fisher, set to name seven debutants in the squad. The match will be the Rhino’s first test since their World Cup qualifier against the Cook Islands in 2019.
The Brasil Carcarás have announced that at least five players from the Brasil Men’s Premiership will feature in the team, with Antonio Caleiro (Umuarama), Diego Sanches (Maringá), Fellipe Dittz (Rio Sharks), Murillo Manzutti (Urutau) and Otávio Guimaraes (Minas Miners) flying over.
The Carcarás went down to the Philippines Tamaraws in their last international in 2021.
