Manly maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a thrilling 34-30 victory over Parramatta in Round 3, thanks to tries from Tom Trbojevic and Haumole Olakau’atu.
In a closely contested match, Olakau’atu secured the win for Manly in the 77th minute, intercepting an Eels offload and running 20 meters to score under the posts.
Despite a late try from Maika Sivo, Parramatta were unable to complete their comeback. Multicultural Round kicked off at 4 Pines Park, with Manly starting strongly and Reuben Garrick scoring in the seventh minute. However, they lost momentum in defense, allowing Parramatta to score two quick tries before half-time.
The second half was similarly tight, with both teams trading blows before Manly ultimately emerged victorious, with Trbojevic and Olakau’atu among the standout players.
The win keeps Manly at the top of the ladder, while Parramatta are still searching for their first victory.
