The Mate Ma’a Tonga management team has announced it’s 38-man extended squad for this year’s Rugby League World Cup. The squad, which will be cut down to 24 by the tournament kick off features players from the National Rugby League and Super League competitions.
NRL based players in the squad will travel to London in early October in preparation for the tournament and the side’s warm up match against the French Les Chanticleers in Halifax on October 8.
Any players taking part in the NRL Grand Final will join the squad the following week.
Tonga will play Wales, Cook Islands and Papua New Guinea in their group matches at the upcoming World Cup.
